What are the easiest houseplants to care for?
You may have had an indoor plant once and it very quickly turned into a pile of wilted leaves that you just felt guilty about. Or, maybe you’ve never owned an indoor plant because you are afraid you won't be able to care for it properly or are unsure how.
Don't fret! The joy of owning houseplants starts with finding just the right plant for you. You might just need an indoor plant that is okay with you forgetting to water it once in a while, or once in a long while. Or, a houseplant that will survive happily a week alone when you’re out of town traveling for work
Here are 9 of the easiest plants to care for:
This sweet addition to your home or office is easy for beginners because it grows happily in low to medium light, looks great, and can even grow leaves up to 3 feet long.
This indoor or outdoor plant is tough, broadleaf evergreen ivy that can spread upwards of 10 feet. It will grow in almost any condition.
Ficus robusta 'Burgundy' or Burgundy Rubber Tree is easy for beginners and a great starter plant! They can quickly grow up to 8' inside.

This hardy plant will do just fine in any type of light from low light areas to bright, full sun. Sansevieria doesn’t need a lot of water, is not sensitive to temperature changes, and doesn’t require any additional care. They are also highly-sought after for their air-purifying properties.
Virtually indestructible, the ZZ Plant will do best if you basically ignore it. It thrives in areas where many plants don’t, making it one of the best office plants or bathroom plants. The ZZ Plant requires very little water and prefers to be kept on the dry side.
This plant will do best in bright, indirect sunlight, and will tolerate low light areas where other plants might not thrive. Water your Spider Plant when the top 2-inches of soil are dry and it will be perfectly happy in your home.
