Bambino Alocasia (Alocasia amazonica 'Bambino') is one of those plants you have to stop twice and ponder. Its distinctive leaves are thick, and the creamy white veining makes you want to color between the lines. Its sharply shaped arrow leaves give directions if you're lost, and it's decidedly a great conversational starter. Tell them you discovered it in the South Pacific on the last trip of your world travels. (Somebody did, at least!)

About Alocasia Bambino

Fairytales and folklore celebrate this plant as the one 'Jack' (and the Beanstalk) climbed up since it grows so fast. Although it doesn't resemble a beanstalk, it shows off its pink petioles standing an erect 4 ft tall over time. For any fairy garden, that's mighty tall!

Fun Facts: Your Alocasia 'Ba...

Your Alocasia 'Bambino' will go through a period of dormancy in the winter months. You may see the foliage yellow or die back but don't be alarmed. It's just resting for the winter. Remove the dying foliage and water less but don't let it get too dry. The new phase it's in causes the roots to go into a storage mode, transforming starches and developing for leaf growth in the spring.
