Syngonium plants are native to the tropical rainforests in southern Mexico, the West Indies, and Central and South America.

Polka dot plants (Hypoestes Phyllostachya) make wonderful indoor plants, but they can also grow as annuals in temperate to warmer zones. Their foliage is an attractive mix of brightly colored perennial flowers and grows into an attractive mound. Native to South Africa, East Asia, and Madagascar.

Calandivas are a mainstay of just about any garden center. These hard workers come in red, yellow, pink, magenta, orange, and white, and they love bright, natural light without much direct sun. Also, since they are actually succulent, their fleshy leaves don't want to be watered all the time. Instead, they prefer less frequent waterings (but a little more when they're flowering).
