About Ruby Rubber Tree

Interestingly enough, this plant's aerial roots have been used to construct bridges in Northeastern India during their monsoon season. While the root is still alive and the tree is thriving, Indians hollow out an Areca nut tree and place the root inside the trunk. This guides the Ficus roots to the other side of the river until their roots hit the soil. Over time, the Areca trunk rots, and the Ficus root thickens to make a usable walking bridge! Ingenuity at their best!

Care Level: I'm Easy

Super easy to care for and perfect for beginners.
