A living statement piece as much as it is a houseplant. The Staghorn Fern is an epiphytic fern that grows naturally on trees in the wild — making this hand-crafted 7 x 5.5" wood plank mount both botanically authentic and visually dramatic. Its bold, antler-like forked fronds radiate outward from the plank in a display that is sculptural, organic, and completely unlike anything else you can hang on a wall. Can be wall-mounted or displayed on a shelf or tabletop.
Care Essentials:
- Water by submerging the entire mount in a basin of room-temperature water for 10–15 minutes every 7–10 days, then drain fully before rehanging
- Place in bright, indirect light — avoid direct afternoon sun and very low light
- Never remove the flat brown shield fronds at the base — they protect the root system and are a natural and essential part of the plant
- Mist the root ball between waterings to maintain moderate humidity, especially in drier indoor environments
Outdoors: Can be displayed year-round in Zones 9–12 in a sheltered, shaded spot such as a covered porch, pergola, or beneath a tree canopy. Bring inside for temps below 55°F
Indoors: Best placed near an east or west-facing window, in a naturally humid room like a bathroom, or on any wall that receives consistent bright indirect light
