One of the best large foliage plants for lower light conditions. Tolerates low to medium indirect light well, though brighter indirect light will produce larger leaves and more vivid variegation. Avoid direct sun, which will scorch and bleach the variegated portions of the leaves.

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically every 7–10 days. Peace lilies will dramatically droop when thirsty but recover quickly after watering — however, frequent wilting stresses the plant over time. Use a pot with drainage and avoid allowing it to sit in standing water.

Prefers moderate to higher humidity of 50–60%. While it tolerates average household humidity, additional moisture from a humidifier or pebble tray will encourage the large, dramatic leaves to reach their full size and keep the variegated markings crisp and vibrant.

Thrives in warm indoor temperatures. Avoid temperatures below 60°F and keep away from cold drafts, exterior doors in winter, and air conditioning vents. Cold stress can cause yellowing leaves and wilting that doesn't recover even after watering.

Suited for outdoor growing only in the most tropical, frost-free Zones 11–12. In virtually all other climates it is grown exclusively as a houseplant year-round. Its adaptability to indoor conditions, including lower light, makes it one of the most versatile and reliable tropical houseplants available.

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer at half strength. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can cause brown leaf tips — a common complaint with peace lilies. Repot every two years in spring or when roots are visibly crowding the pot or emerging from drainage holes. Choose a pot 2 inches larger with drainage holes. Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. Water thoroughly after repotting and keep out of direct sun while the plant settles over the following 1–2 weeks.

Wipe the large leaves with a soft damp cloth monthly to remove dust and keep the striking variegated pattern looking its best. Given the size of the leaves, this also significantly improves the plant's ability to photosynthesize effectively. Remove spent blooms and any yellowing leaves at the base as they appear.

Propagate by division during repotting. Carefully remove the plant from its pot and gently separate the root clumps into sections, each with several healthy leaves and a good root system. Pot each division in fresh, well-draining potting mix, water thoroughly, and keep in warm indirect light for 3–4 weeks while it establishes.
