About Abundant Red Holiday Poinsettia

The first US Ambassador to Mexico, Joel Poinsett, brought these plants back from Taco, Mexico and started growing them in South Carolina. He started passing them along to friends and botanical gardens nearby. Eventually, Poinsett sent the plants to a friend, Robert Buist, a Pennsylvania plantsman. He started reproducing them as cut flowers.

Fun Facts: Did you know the ...

Did you know the so-called 'flowers' are really leaves called "bracts" that turn color as the days get shorter during the fall and winter months? The first US Ambassador to Mexico, Joel Poinsett, brought these plants back from Taco, Mexico and started growing them in South Carolina. It's name is derived from the Ambassador. Poinsettias grow as large outdoor shrubs in Madagascar (an island off the eastern coast of Africa) and bloom during the holiday season. Hence why they have adopted it as their national emblem!

    Beautiful, hard

I have 2 cats so this poinsettia is in the hall as part of my school Christmas, or happy Christmas. Acting in a tip, we said we're get him.

Which while we were gone' has almost been destroyed by two men in blank-face masks.
