To collect seeds, trim the whole plant down to the base. Then, hang until dry. After a few months, rub the dried pods between your fingers and shake the seeds into a paper bag. Rubbing the dried pods with your fingers will cause the seeds to detach from the stems. Then separate the stems and seeds with a colander. Discard the chaff and stems. Do not prematurely harvest young seeds since they taste bitter and aren't suitable for cooking. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep at 4 inches apart. Sow seeds every three weeks to have a perpetual harvest during the season until it gets too hot.
